About Katrina
Homeopathy is my passion however the heart of my work is a simple message; that we rethink what ‘dis-ease’ really means and how we understand symptoms and illness. Rather than seeing them as problems to silence, we can learn to view them as signals from the body, guiding us towards change and balance.
Symptoms truly are a gift, if we are willing to listen and act accordingly.
My Background
My journey began in the healing arts space with energy healing, that introduced me to Homeopathy. I soon realised how deep acting Homeopathy is, treating the root cause of dis-ease rather than just putting a ‘plaster’ over symptoms and their cause. Energy healing is wonderful, but it could not compare to the permanent and deep acting change Homeopathy provides. I witnessed the profound effect on my nephew’s severe eczema and on my own life; I then knew I needed to learn this remarkable medicine!
I graduated from a three-year course at the River School of Homeopathy blended with Naturopathy, Osteopathy and Cranial alongside a solid foundation of Physiology, Pathology and Medical Diagnosis. The course also has a key focus on the importance of Traditional Chinese Medicine alongside allied to trauma and how this impacts our whole bodily system, if left untreated.
My incredible teacher Helen Johnson learnt from Dr Ramakrishnan; a brilliant Indian homeopath trained by Margery Blackie, the first female Royal Physician to Queen Elizabeth II and founder of the Homeopathic Hospital in London.
I believe the healing process begins when you walk through my door, before any homeopathic remedies are given. We as Homeopaths open the healing space, by listening; Homeopathy is truly a therapy. I am proud to have built my practice around a heart-centred approach, creating a clinic filled with love and compassion for my clients and their healing process.
I am experienced in treating both acute and complex chronic conditions, across mental, emotional and physical levels; working with individuals of all ages across every stage of life.
The Principles of Homeopathy
How it works and differs from conventional medicine
-
Our bodies are miraculous machines with an innate knowing; when we suffer from dis-ease, symptoms are a signal from our body, warning us that we are out of alignment, across our mind, body, spirit/soul. For humans to be truly ‘well’, you cannot hope for physical symptoms to resolve without taking into consideration the Mind & Spirit/Soul. For example, when physical symptoms appear, we use a timeline to understand what was happening emotionally at this time. This way, we treat the whole of you. Not just one part, getting to the root of what caused the issue; when it’s treated, the symptoms can begin to heal.
-
This is the founding principle of Homeopathy with Homeo meaning ‘like’. The art of Homeopathy is to match a person to a natural substance, we treat the person not the disease, although many remedies have affinities to certain organs or diseases. For example, a common homeopathic medicine is Natrum Mur; aka Sea Salt. We know excess salt effects our kidneys causing water retention; Natrum Mur is therefore a kidney remedy which controls water balance. It is is also an eczema remedy for dry skin aka, lack of fluid. Often people demonstrating a Natrum Mur picture hold onto their emotions and rarely cry – again a lack of fluid! So, we match the whole person to a ‘similar’.

In Homeopathy, symptoms are seen as meaningful signals from our body about where attention or change may be needed to bring us back into balance, preventing further illness. These often begin gently and quietly, however if ignored or suppressed, they shout louder often presenting as a chronic illness. When we listen carefully to these signals, they guide us back to health. We often say ‘when the tears aren’t shed the body weeps’ – our body and organs take on the emotions we haven’t expressed, so if we can follow these signals, the body will tell us where we’re out of alignment.
-
In Homeopathy we never suppress symptoms, the remedies help the body to release them and we follow what the body is expressing to guide us. We often use the analogy of the body as an onion, developing layers throughout our life, of illness, trauma, unexpressed emotions etc. Often an old symptom may return to be treated as we peel back an upper layer of something that is a byproduct of a previously suppressed symptom, where the root cause was never addressed; just silenced.
On a basic level, we may get the flu when our body needs a full body detox. A fever speeds up our metabolism removing toxins from our blood. Fever cures disease in the body. Fevers shouldn’t be feared but supported safely to assist our bodies to do exactly what it is telling us it needs to do. Symptoms truly are a gift, if we are willing to listen.
